KFC South Africa brings a lil heat

KFC South Africa is bringing the heat for the launch of its limited-edition Zinger Nuggets. A nugget version of KFC’s famous Zinger, a spicy chicken fillet, the Zinger Nuggets are being introduced to South Africa with several fun initiatives.

To promote the LTO menu offering, KFC South Africa launched a musical ad that follows two friends one-upping each other about the myriad ways that KFC’s zinger nuggets can bring the heat “whenever, wherever.”

Additionally, the team in South Africa has launched a hunt for the country’s “next hottest young talented Social Heat Makers.” The challenge is offering three aspiring “Social Heat Makers” the opportunity to use their hot content skills, with the new Zinger Nuggets as their muse, for an opportunity to be a social content creator for two upcoming KFC campaigns.

To enter the contest, KFC is asking these aspiring social content creators to “bring a lil heat to their feed” by featuring Zinger Nuggets in their own social feeds with the hashtag #bringalilheat. Three Social Heat Makers will be selected to create future social content for the brand (campaigns worth R40,000) and a content creator starter kit worth R10,000 along with a new phone, tripod, and light stand. The three winners will also receive a mentorship with George “Okay Wasabi” Mnguni, one of South Africa’s most loved YouTubers and content creators.

Additionally, to further help and inspire aspiring Social Heat Makers, KFC has set up a “Zinger Lil Heat Studio” that is designed as “a content creator’s playground” with specially curated sets that fans can take advantage of to create their content and entries. The studio is open to all eager creators who want to get innovative with Zinger Nuggets and everyone that visits the studio and shares their entries will receive free Zinger Nuggets as inspiration.
