KFC UK & Ireland selects its new, temporary taglines as voted for by the great British
public

The news comes following the announcement that KFC’s world-famous slogan ‘It’s Finger Lickin’ Good’ has been temporarily paused

London, United Kingdom, September 14- We asked, and they delivered. KFC’s biggest superfans were put to the test when challenged to come up with our temporary slogan as we put ‘you know what’ on pause…

A whole coop of chicken enthusiasts gave it their all to come up with a slogan that fits the beak, including Professor Green, Made in Chelsea star Oliver Proudlock, radio star Chris Stark, and even our first inductee to the KFC Superfan Hall of Fame, Kamlesh Mistry.

But the crucial job of picking the final slogans was down to the great British public, who were asked to vote on the winning tagline over on our Instagram. They were presented with some clucking good suggestions, so its with great pleasure that we announce the final temporary taglines as:

  • “It’s chicken dippin’ good”,
  • Oliver Proudlock
  • “It’s forking good”,
  • Stevo The Madman
  • “It’s make you forget about 2020 good”,
  • Kate Ovens
  • “It’s my type on paper good”
  • , Olivia Attwood
  • “It’s lip smackin’ good”,
  • Chris Hughes
  • “It’s survived 2020, it’s that good”,
  •
  • Chloe Simon, KFC Superfan
  • “It’s better than your Grandma’s good”,
  • Louisianne Niole-Legge, KFC Team Member

We’re pretty impressed with the winning entries, but when it came to the Colonel’s Vote, it had to be awarded to Professor Green and his entry “It’s crackin’, even in the wrappin’ good”.

These new slogans will be used across our next advertising campaign, so keep a look out for our superfan creations. And remember, the original It’s Finger Lickin’ Good will be back. Just when the time is right.

About KFC:

In 1952 Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in Utah. Since then, his perfectly crafted Original Recipe chicken and its secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has become famous all over the world, and today we have over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

The Colonel was all about doing things the right way. That means our chicken is delivered fresh from farm to restaurant in 48 hours. It’s prepared carefully by hand in-restaurant by trained cooks, using the very best chicken reared to strict welfare standards. In July 2019 we took the next big step in our welfare journey and signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment, a set of six criteria that have been designed to improve the lives of all chickens within the KFC supply chain, by 2026. That’s what makes our food so finger lickin’ good.

The right way also means serving fresh proper food, packed with flavour. So, we’ve worked hard to make nutritional improvements across our menu, so our fans have as much choice as possible, and we’ve committed to removing 20% of calories per serving by 2025.

The Colonel also believed in feeding promise, wherever it’s found. So that’s why we invest heavily in the development and careers of our 27,000 employees – we were the first restaurant to launch an honours degree. And since its 2015 launch, our KFC Foundation has paid out grants totalling £5 million to our charity partners who are passionate about developing and nurturing young people across the country.
