Kentucky Fried Chicken Opens 47th Restaurant in Italy
Pandemic not slowing growth for the company
New Restaurant in Pomezia is the first drive-thru in Lazio
29 new jobs created for the territory
MILAN, Feb. 1, 2021 – 2021 begins with further proof of KFC’s ability to continue expansion in Italy, despite the complex overall situation linked to the pandemic. On February 5th, the company will be opening a new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Pomezia, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Rome. The restaurant is located at Via del Mare 16, one of the biggest routes connecting Rome with the coast, that serves as a strategic axis for transportation within Lazio and for commercial services and activities for the inhabitants of the region.
“With this opening, we now have 47 KFC restaurants in Italy, of which nine are in Lazio,” says Carrado Cagnola, managing director of KFC Italia. “We are continuing to grow our presence domestically, contributing to the stability of the economy and providing employment, despite the challenges of these unprecedented times. We are proud of the results we are achieving thanks to the strength and solidity of our system. With the restaurant in Pomezia, we also continue to expand the drive-thru format: an asset that is highly appreciated by our customers for the convenience it provides of buying food without getting out of the car. This is particularly welcome now from a safety perspective.”
The new restaurant in Pomezia is managed by US Food Network Srl, a Franchise Partner of KFC Italia, which manages a total of 19 KFC restaurants in Italy.
Built on two floors with a capacity of 128 seats in the dining room, the Pomezia restaurant offers drive-thru service, with a lane conveniently dedicated to collecting your order without getting out of the car. At the restaurant, you also have the option of using the “click and collect” service through the KFC APP ITALY, ordering in the restaurants through kiosks – which allow for maximum convenience and safety during these times and ordering of products, or taking advantage of delivery service through Deliveroo.
“We are very pleased to be opening our 19th KFC restaurant in Italy and continuing to grow the brand, in which we strongly believe in as a Franchisee, in our country. With the restaurant in Pomezia, we are also creating 29 new jobs, mostly employing people from the territory,” says Dan Ilie, sole director of US Food Network Srl. “We are particularly proud to be bucking the trend of headwinds the current market is undergoing. Since the beginning of 2020, we have hired over 100 people at our KFC restaurants and we continue to contribute growth in the territories where we operate.”
The restaurant will be open beginning on February 5th from 11:00 – 22:00 unless otherwise required by national and local authorities due to the current Covid emergency.
