MPM 2023: Welcome to Craveland
June 30, 2023
This month, nearly 300 KFC “marketeers” and partners from across the world gathered together to celebrate, share and solve. This year’s theme was Craveland celebrating how we can drive our business with the world’s most famous, craveable, finger lickin’ good fried chicken.
Across the four-day summit, teams from every market presented their recent successes, current challenges and plans for growth. Additionally, cross-market panels and expert masterclasses were hosted on timely marketing topics to inform and equip our teams.
Here are 5 key takeaways from MPM 2023:
- Taste is KFC’s superpower. We have the original recipe for fried chicken, period. Original Recipe (OR) draws in fried chicken fans from every corner of the globe and today we’re bringing our OR to more meals and deals than ever before.
- Value is king. While the economies of the more than 145 countries we operate in differ greatly, inflation was a common theme across nearly all. Together we discussed pricing strategies to ensure consumers are receiving great value at KFC.
- The times (and the chicken) are spicy. Our teams prepared and enjoyed menu items from across the world and trust us when we tell you things heated up. From the Fiery Zinger Burger from Australia to Wings Zeed from Thailand, many markets brought the heat along with some amazing flavor.
- Fried (chicken) should feel good. We are in the business of feeding people and their potential. What other brand can gather people with purpose over a bucket of fried chicken? (Go ahead and try to think of one; we’ll wait.) Through our global food donation program, more than 150 pounds of surplus food from our kitchen fed under-represented communities in Dallas. What’s more, author and speaker Kevin Carroll joined us to share his story and to remind our teams how important it is to incorporate play into work. We wasted no time putting that lesson into motion and headed straight to a dueling piano bar.
- Ce-le-brate good times, come on! (Okay, we already miss the piano bar). We wrapped up our time together with a Texas sized awards gala to recognize the amazing work our talented marketers do every day. Then, we paid it forward, gifting Craveland décor to the Boys & Girls Club Collin County for the next generation to be their best selves and have fun. Finally, we diverted our stage carpet waste from landfills with the help of Texas Carpet & Construction Recycling, which plants one tree for every ton of carpet recycled. It's safe to say, this was one of our greenest MPM yet!
That’s all from our time Craveland.
