Sydney, Australia, November 1, 2019- Spooktober is here and that means one thing - Trick or Treat! To celebrate the occasion, KFC and Menulog buddied up to be Hallow-queens and created the ultimate Trick or Treat for Kentucky Fried Chicken® lovers on Halloween.

TRICK OR TREAT! KFC CURSED COLONELS GAVE AUSSIES THE FRIGHT OF THEIR LIFE ON HALLOWEEN

For one night only, a select few who ordered KFC for dinner on Menulog were greeted by a Zombie Colonel, Werewolf Colonel, Skeleton Colonel or Vampire Colonel - all of which was captured on camera with hilarious results!

But the spooks didn’t stop there...a contortionist twisted and spider-walked deliveries to people’s door, cheeky KFC ‘Jack-In-A-Buckets’ sprung unsuspecting victims with snakes and a three-man-band put on a show for lucky punters who were fortunate to secure an encore to their Menulog delivery.

As the trick or treaters took to the streets, new KFC research[1] reveals that for the quarter of people (26%) who celebrate Halloween, they do so because they look forward to ‘trick or treating’. And as Halloween becomes more celebrated, it’s no surprise that three in every ten Aussies (5.75 million) have been trick or treating. We guess ghouls just want to have fun!?

Kristi Woolrych, CMO at KFC Australia, said“Halloween has quickly become a popular holiday in Australia and we’re not surprised. Who doesn’t like to trick or treat? Our research shows that 4.35 million Australians are celebrating more now than they did five years ago. KFC always provides a good treat, so we thought…if you’ve got it, haunt it, and joined in the festivities by giving fans a treat they’ll never forget.”

Not only do we like to ‘trick or treat’ on Halloween, we also like to eat-in during the Halloween season. Exclusive Menulog data shows that one of the top three delicious spooktacular meals Aussies indulged in ahead of Halloween last year were KFC’s Wicked Wings. Bone appetit.

Simon Cheng, Marketing Director at Menulog Australia, said: “Not only is Australia’s love for Halloween increasing, but celebrating ‘Spooktober’ with food delivered is also on the rise, with a 12 percent increase in orders year on year. We loved delivering a bit of fun with KFC this Halloween and are excited to be able to extend this to all Australians over the ‘Hallo-weenkend’ with 25% off all KFC delivery from Friday to Sunday!”

“We know our customers’ Halloween favourites are the Zinger Box and aptly named ‘Wicked Wings’, so we’re proud to be able to deliver these at even better value to customers across the country with this first-ever three day promotion.”

So what are you waiting for? Don’t be a jerk-o-lantern! Menulog’s Halloween-kend offer will be available from Friday 1 November to Sunday 3 November, offering 25% off all KFC orders nationwide*. You’re bone to be wild, all you have to do is use the code ‘KFCTREATS’ at the checkout - valid for all KFC restaurants available on Menulog. Head to the Menulog website to see more.
