KFC MAKES A $50,000 DONATION TO FONDAZIONE BANCO ALIMENTARE
A contribution given through Yum! Foundation to those that are working to mitigate food insecurity due to COVID-19 crisis
April 15, 2020, Milan,Italy–Food insecurity is one of the results of the Covid19 emergency also in Italy. Fondazione Banco Alimentare, working with affiliated charities, assists 1,500,000 people in our country who are facing food insecurity and poverty.
In order to sustain Fondazione Banco Alimentare KFC – Kentucky Fried Chicken – donated 50.000$ through Yum! Foundation. Fondazione Banco Alimentare coordinates a distribution network that delivers food to people in need throughout Italy.
Yum! Foundation is the Foundation created by Yum! Brands, KFC’s parent corporation, and it supports programs designed to eradicate hunger and hunger-related causes. It also supports initiatives in the areas of arts and culture, education, social services, and diversity.
“We have decided to give this contribution to Banco Alimentare with which we already have a consolidated relationship having worked with them in the past years on our Harvest Project for the recovery and donation of the surplus food in our restaurants– states Corrado Cagnola, CEO KFC Italia –This is a contribution to sustain what Banco Alimentare is doing during this emergency but also for the work that will need to be done once the emergency will be over.”

In addition, to supporting the doctors, and the healthcare workers on the front line, in the past weeks, thanks to the commitment of the team of the KFC restaurant in Milan Bicocca managed in franchising by the company 5Roosters srl, KFC sent to some hospitals in the area of Milan(Luigi Sacco, Humanitas and San Gerardo) some deliveries of fried chicken with the aim of bringing them some relief through great food.
