Bucharest, Romania, October 14, 2019- In 2008, KFC and Pizza Hut decided to join World Vision Romania to support the "I want in the 9th grade" program, whose main purpose is to combat school dropout -one of the main problems of the society, at the level of education. To date, more than 1,300 children have received support in the continuation of secondary education.

Every year, during the month of October, donations can be made for children enrolled in the program, in ballot boxes specially arranged at locations throughout the country, at cash registers when placing the order or at digital kiosks, in the restaurants where they are available. Clients are encouraged to donate, thus contributing to the future of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as the lack of financial resources is an issue that substantially influences the risk of school dropout. Whatever amount is important, donation is not conditional on the purchase of any product.

Thus, together with those who join the campaign, KFC and Pizza Hut manage to sustain a small dream, which is actually great, by providing vital financial support for this professional and personal stage, from the life of a teenager, access to the high school. The donations reach the children enrolled in the program "I want in the 9th grade" in the form of monthly scholarships worth 250 lei, distributed throughout the high school cycle and which are intended for the costs of transportation and the purchase of supplies. In addition, through the program, students also receive access to a series of socio-professional counseling sessions, as well as to activities dedicated to socialization. The students who will be part of the project "I want to be in 9th grade" are chosen both on the basis of their school results and on the basis of their desire to continue their studies.

This year, within the campaign, the success stories of some students are presented, within the dedicated platform https://www.kfc.ro/vreauinclasa9/. Specifically, 12 students from different promotions share what the access to the project “I want in the 9th grade” represented for them, telling their personal and professional career. The "I want in the 9th grade "project is a soulful one for us, already having a tradition and results that we enjoy very much. Through it, we managed to invest, in the long term, in the education and access to information of generations of children with potential and we realized that what for us may seem like a small dream, for them it is a very big one. That is why we will continue to support this initiative and we are confident that, as in previous years, we will have the support of our clients and employees, who have made this project possible and we want to thank them in this way for their confidence. granted, " said Claudia Porojan, Senior PR & CSR Manager Sphera Franchise Group.

"We are in the 12th year of partnership with KFC and Pizza Hut Romania. The considerable amounts that have been collected over the years, for the development of the "I want in the 9th grade" project, give us a confident perspective on this year's campaign. 1,343 graduates of the twelfth class and 200 students who have completed a faculty with the help of this program are results that make me look back with admiration and courage before, realizing all we have managed to do together for children. I emphasize "together", because it is an essential word that we approach at the organizational level, we promote it and because this is how we managed to reach our goals. Together we can transform perspectives, plant seeds that will grow tall trees later. I chose this metaphor because that is how I feel when I look at the results - that we all put our shoulders on something much bigger than ourselves. In the 2018-2019 school year, for example, together with the partners KFC and Pizza Hut Romania, we managed to support the education of 238 fellows - to offer them prospects for the future, to encourage them, in their own right, in challenging, real situations with which they were confronted at the family or community level. We continue and we are convinced that together we can support other children who need our support! ",says Mihaela Loredana Nabar, World Vision Romania Executive Director.

KFC and Pizza Hut's partnership with World Vision Romania is part of the strategic CSR directions of KFC and Pizza Hut Romania, with the aim of supporting the education and development of young people.
