KFC is celebrating the recent milestone opening of its 25,000th restaurant around the world. The restaurant, located in the scenic and historic city of Hyderabad in southern India, is led and operated by an all-women team, a testament to our commitment of championing a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging across the globe. Locally, the decision to staff our 25,000th restaurant with an all-women team reflects KFC India’s Kshamata (implying potential or ability) program, reinforcing its commitment towards gender and ability parity. KFC India’s first all-women staffed restaurant opened in 2013.
As part of our month-long celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we sat down with Tatipatri Padmavathi (“Padma”), the RGM of our all-women 25000th KFC restaurant.
What brought you to KFC?
Trust in the brand brought me to KFC India. I am Padma and I have always loved working with KFC. The brand has helped me develop and sharpen my skills, with a clear vision on career growth. All my career milestones and achievements were celebrated right here at KFC. My family is super proud of me and keep encouraging me to pursue my dreams.
How has your career grown since starting with the company?
I joined KFC in 2016 and I worked as a Team Member for 1.5 years. Unfortunately, I had to quit work due to personal reasons. But I was always determined to come back to KFC, since no other workplace and brand gave me the sense of achievement and belonging as KFC did. I was persistent and joined back in 2018 as a Shift Manager. Within 7 months, I was promoted and grew into the role of an Assistant Restaurant Manager (ARM) in 2019. And it gives me immense happiness to have been promoted as a Restaurant Manager in 2021, after 1.5 years of being an ARM.
