HYPE Presents: 35 Under 35—Christina Porter
HYPE (Hungry Young Professionals Engaging) is an ERG based at our Lousiville, Kentucky campus. Earlier this year, they launched their 35 under 35 campaign which aims to highlight 35 young professionals from now until the end of the year who are making a difference in our company and practicing allyship. What is a recent achievement you wish to share?
I recently completed the Microsoft Future of Work Initiative by participating in the Butterfly Project (see details below).
How are you an ally/practicing allyship for an underrepresented community?
Outside of work, I participate in the Butterfly Project, which is focused on finding injustices in our community and bringing attention to them by using data. In the HelpDesk, I am trying to bring more attention to the LGTBQ+ community by using inclusive pronouns on the HelpDesk and advocating with the LGTBQ+ community.
Who is an influential leader for you (outside of Yum/KFC) and why?
Alisia McClain - she has helped me in my role of understanding social justice in all communities and what my role is in supporting these communities.
Tell us something about yourself you would love to share:
I really hope to expand my role to become a developer or data analyst one day.
