Australia Celebrates Christmas in July
While the Northern Hemisphere gets to look forward to the holiday season to bring some cheer to cold, dark winters, Australians suffer through their winter without any cheery holidays to brighten up their dreary months. That’s why KFC Australia has decided to celebrate Christmas in July this year.
The atmosphere of Christmas, and all the cold weather/Santa themes that go along with it, just lend themselves to cooler temperatures. Australians however celebrate traditional Christmas during their hottest time of year so their celebrations look a little different with celebrations on the beach and lighter fare for meals such as seafood. As a result, Australians also have a tradition of celebrating Christmas in July, aka Yulefest, to get a more “traditional” feeling opportunity to celebrate the holiday with hearty roasts, fires, and cooler temperatures.
So, after over a year of lockdowns and social distancing, KFC Australia decided there was no better way to bring some warmth to the chillier winter temperatures in Australia than to also spread some holiday cheer! To celebrate Christmas in July, KFC Australia has introduced, for a limited time, the Christmas in July Feast! For AUD $49.95, the Christmas in July Feast comes with a whopping:
- 15 pieces of Original Recipe Chicken
- 8 Wicked Wings
- 12 Nuggets
- 1 Maxi Popcorn Chicken
- 3 Large Chips
- 1 Large Potato & Gravy
- 1.25L Drink
- 3 Dipping Sauces
Woah! Additionally, the team in Australia introduced some very merry Christmas jumpers that will give you nothing but wholesome 80s vibes. Available for AUD $59.95, these cozy red and white jumpers fit perfectly into the overall KFC Christmas in July theme and branding. The jumpers were such a hit that they have already sold out.
of KFC Australia’s team members being under the age of 25, supporting Aussie youth is something we’re passionate about.
