United Kingdom, July 6, 2019- Today is National Fried Chicken Day and while we know you probably don’t need an excuse to get your KFC fix, the chicken gurus have revealed the ultimate celebratory burger that’s too epic to ignore. After all… it is KFC’s day.

KFC UK&I EXPOSES THE HACKER BURGER

KFC’s new Hacker burger pays homage to its distinctive and beloved fried chicken.

Now, picture this: An Original Recipe fillet alongside a Zinger fillet… together for the first time in a KFC burger. Perfectly complemented by a crispy hash brown, cheese, lashings of Garlic Mayo and gravy, all sandwiched between a lightly toasted glazed bun.

And to all our Finger Lickin’ fans, we wish you a very Happy KFC day!

A KFC spokesperson said: “We just had to go big for National Fried Chicken Day. And what better way to celebrate than with a burger in honour of the real chicken aficionados? Our fans always tell us about their favourite KFC items, so it was only fitting to put them all together for the ultimate National Fried Chicken Day treat!”

Fancy trying your own Hacker burger? Don’t just wing it. Follow these simple steps to enjoy KFC’s latest masterpiece:

  1. Order a Zinger Tower burger without the mayo and salsa, a Mini Fillet burger without the mayo, a pot of gravy and the Garlic Mayo dip

  2. Remove the top bap of the Zinger Tower burger and immediately remove all contents, including the hashbrown and cheese to ensure it doesn’t melt onto the Zinger Fillet

  3. Now, grab the bottom bap and start building!

  4. First, add a layer of Garlic Mayo onto the bottom bap and place the lettuce from the Zinger burger on top of it

  5. Next, add your Zinger Fillet and put another layer of Garlic Mayo on top, followed by the hashbrown and cheese

  6. Now, add your Mini Original Recipe Fillet and a layer of gravy. If you have extra cheese, now’s the time to add it in. Finish with some more crispy lettuce from the Mini Fillet burger

  7. Finally, place your burger bun on top and tuck in!

If enough finger lickin’ fans give the hack a go and tag @KFC_UKI and include #HappyKFCDay in their creations across social media, we might launch this as an official menu item for National Fried Chicken Day 2020. Get tagging!

KFC’s Hacker burger menu hack can be created in the UK from £7.67.

About:

In 1952 Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in Utah. Since then, his perfectly crafted Original Recipe chicken and its secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has become famous all over the world, and today we have over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.

The Colonel was all about doing things the right way. That means our chicken is delivered fresh from farm to restaurant in 48 hours. It’s prepared carefully by hand in-restaurant by trained cooks, using the very best chicken reared to strict welfare standards. That’s what makes our food so finger lickin’ good.

The right way also means serving fresh proper food, packed with flavour. So we’ve worked hard to make nutritional improvements across our menu so our fans have as much choice as possible, and we’ve committed to removing 20% of calories per serving by 2025.

The Colonel also believed in feeding promise, wherever it’s found. So that’s why we invest heavily in the development and careers of our 24,000 employees – we were the first restaurant to launch an honours degree. And since its 2015 launch, our KFC Foundation has paid out grants totalling £3 million to our charity partners who are passionate about developing and nurturing young people across the country.
