KFC Australia opens the doors to its Degustation restaurant following last night’s launch event with a star-studded guestlist of famous chefs and celebs
From Friday 1 April - Sunday 3 April, KFC Australia will welcome the lucky fans who nabbed a reservation to enjoy its 11-course menu designed by degustation expert, Nelly Robinson
Thursday 31 March 2022 – Sydney, Australia: KFC Australia officially welcomed guests to its world-first, fine dining Degustation restaurant at a Sydney launch event last night ahead of opening the doors to fans this weekend. Pulling out all the stops to make it a night to remember, guests were treated to 11 courses of masterfully crafted, fancy pants KFC as the red carpet was rolled out for an evening of decadent dining.
Giving the 11-course Degustation their tick of approval, a host of notable guests including well-established chefs, foodies and celebrities flocked to the restaurant for an exclusive first taste. The evening saw MasterChef stars Reynold Poernomo, Sarah Tiong and Pete Campbell, chef and TV personality Anna Polyviou, chef Mitch Orr, Peking Duk stars Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, reality TV stars Sophie Tieman and Tina Provis join for a truly KFC affair as guests were encouraged to forget their preconceptions of fine dining and have fun with their food.
Following the announcement of KFC’s Degustation restaurant earlier this month, over 20,000 fans joined the waitlist to nab a seat at the hottest – and tastiest – new restaurant in town. The KFC Degustation restaurant will take guests on a one-of-a-kind culinary journey over three nights from Friday 1 until Sunday 3 April.
Fans can expect to be blown away by not just the flavour – but the creativity and theatre – as they experience their favourite KFC menu items in unexpected new ways. The 11-course menu created in partnership with Nelly Robinson, Chef Patron and owner of Sydney restaurant, nel., features a decadent selection of dishes all inspired by and showcasing authentic KFC menu items and ingredients. The menu includes:
You Call That A Burger? – A tomatoey marshmallow with secret dusting and cheese
Zinger® Katsu – A delicious mouthful made with a mini-Zinger, katsu jus, curry mayo and dill on a potato pillow
Supercharged® Wings – Cooked over a bed of charcoal, these are beautifully charred - and supercharged - wings
Potato and Gravy – This dish is a marvel to behold as the gravy candle (yes, that’s right!) melts, dip your potato bun into the “wax” and enjoy *chef kiss fingers
Zinger® Kingfish – A new way to enjoy our Zinger flavour crumbed delicately around sliced kingfish on top of yogurt slaw with lobster

Tongue Twister® – This one is Colonel’s face on a plate with the flavours of Kentucky Fried Chicken, tomato, lettuce and Pepper Mayo to be licked off and relished
Twister® Sister – A fresh take on our Twister, this one comes with pearl barley risotto, sundried tomato, pumpkin and last but not least our Chicken Tenders
Popcorn Chicken® – It’s the Popcorn Chicken our fans know and love paired with celeriac soup, mushroom gnocchi and basil topped off with an edible floral garnish
La Di Da Drumstick (aka Fried Gold) – Our iconic Original Recipe drumstick dusted with quinoa and gold ‘coz we don’t call it Fried Gold for nothing…
Chips for Dessert – Taking our chippies to the next level this bad boy comes with wattle seed ice cream and burnt pineapple
